Who’s Holding the Ladder? – Reece Chenault, Community Outreach Director
Reece Chenault has spent almost seven years as a union and community organizer. When Reece met Bill, he was working on the Clean Up Sodexo campaign for SEIU Local 32BJ, an innovative and exciting international campaign that seeks to help Sodexo workers fight for better wages and respect on the job. Prior to that, Reece was a Member Strength Organizer for SEIU Local 500 where he worked with community allies and union members to create working relationships that could continue increasing the standard of living for Montgomery County Public Schools employees. As if all that weren’t enough, Reece is also in school to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Economy of Labor at the National Labor College, hoping to finish in December of this year.
Reece was drawn to Community Ladders because he hadn’t (and still hasn’t) seen an organization that takes such a personalized approach to financial health while remaining very affordable. Having seen the front lines of the economic downturn, Reece was fired up to join an un-evil financial planning organization that looks out for its members.
As Director of Community Outreach, Reece leads our efforts to vet, and connect with, other groups that help people make better financial decisions. He also seeks out groups in the community where we can deliver our free planning seminar or participate in other volunteer activities.
